ST MARY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

According to Sheriff David Naquin during the last 24 hours the Sheriff’s Office responded to 29 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Shondra L. Jordan 33 yoa of 2012 Green St., Jeanerette was arrested on 1-6-2009 at 7:29 pm on a warrant for Failure to Appear on the charge Theft by Fraud. Suspect turned herself into the Sheriff’s Office after learning of warrant for her arrest. Suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $10,000.00 bond and was later released.

The St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force, consisting of St. Mary Sheriff Dept., Morgan City Police Dept., Patterson Police Department Franklin Police Dept., Baldwin Police Dept., Berwick Police Dept., and Chitimacha Police Dept., report the following arrests:

Stephen Kovac 23 yoa of 204 Wise St., Patterson was arrested on 1-6-2009 at 8:27 pm for Possession of Marijuana. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force were patrolling Federal Ave. in Morgan City when a traffic stop was conducted. During investigation a search of vehicle was conducted with a small amount of marijuana being located. Suspect was placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 4-6-2009.

Blake Smith 18 yoa of 321 Leo Dr., Patterson and Greg Holder 20 yoa of 426 Tiffany St., Patterson were arrested on 1-6-2009 at 10:28 pm with Smith being charged with Failure to Use Signal, Improper Display of License Plate, Reckless Operation, Flight from an Officer and Possession of Cocaine and Holder being charged with Possession of Cocaine and two warrants for Failure to Appear on the charges Of Issuing Worthless Checks. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force were patrolling Adams St. in Morgan City, when Agents attempted to conduct a traffic stop, suspect vehicle refused to stop and led Agents and Deputy’s on a chase with suspect vehicle finally coming to a stop in the Patterson Pipe Yard in Morgan City. Agents detained suspects and conducted an investigation. During investigation a cellophane bag was located with several rocks of crack cocaine. Also during investigation $597.00 in U. S. Currency was located and seized. After investigation above suspects were placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with no bonds at this time.
