Attention Thibodaux Residents: Press Conference Tomorrow in Thibodaux at Allen Chapel on Lagarde Street!

Thibodaux City Councilwoman Constance Johnson is holding a news conference Monday to discuss allegations being made against Mayor Tom...my Eschete and Police Chief Scott Silverii.

Veteran officer Calvin Cooks filed a lawsuit that alleges Silverii and officers concocted rumors implicating Cooks in two 2011 incidents that involved 56 tires slashed on police vehicles parked outside the agency’s Canal Boulevard headquarters.

Officers did this at the request of Eschete, who Cooks claims was doing a political favor for former City Councilman Varick Taylor Sr., the suit claims.

Johnson said the conference will take place at the Allen Chapel on Legarde Street in Thibodaux at 11:30 a.m.
