The St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force, consisting of St. Mary Sheriff Dept., Morgan City Police Dept., Franklin Police Dept., Baldwin Police Dept., Berwick Police Dept., and Chitimacha Police Dept., report the following arrests:
Carolyn T. Hamm 51 yoa of 116 South Railroad Ave., Morgan City and Scarlett Burkart 30 yoa of 520 Blake Field Dr., Schriever, La. were arrested on 9-7-2011 at 3:15 pm with Hamm being arrested on warrants for Obstruction of Justice, three counts of Possession of a Legend Drug, Distribution of Roxicodone, Possession of Suboxone and was additionally charged with Possession of Xanax and Burkart being charged with Possession of Vyvanse. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force went to 116 South Railroad Ave. in Morgan City to execute warrants. Upon Agents arrival contact was made with Hamm and she was placed under arrest on warrants. During investigation Burkart was located in the residence and was found to be in possession of Vyvanse. Both suspects were placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with no bonds at this time.
Ryan Torres 17 yoa of 1408 Pecan St., Morgan City and a Juvenile Male 16 yoa of Bayou Vista were arrested on 9-7-2011 at 4:50 pm with Torres being charged with Turn Signal Required, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute and Possession of CDS in the Presence of a Juvenile and Juvenile was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force were patrolling the Bayou Vista area, when they observed suspect vehicle fail to use turn signal and conducted a traffic stop. During investigation Agents located marijuana in Torres’s vehicle and also located marijuana and drug paraphernalia on passenger. After investigation both suspects were placed under arrest with Torres being booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time and Juvenile being processed and released to guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
