St. Mary Sheriff's Report 6/9/09

The St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force, consisting of St. Mary Sheriff Dept., Morgan City Police Dept., Patterson Police Department Franklin Police Dept., Baldwin Police Dept., Berwick Police Dept., and Chitimacha Police Dept., report the following arrests:

Kevin Landry 26 yoa and Brittany Dinger 21 yoa both of 635 Teche Road, Bayou Vista were arrested on 6-9-2009 at 12:06 am Landry being charged with Turn Signal Required, a warrant for Probation Violation, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of CDS in the Presence of a Juvenile, Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Reckless handling of Hazardous Materials and Operating a Clandestine Laboratory and Dinger being charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of CDS in the Presence of a Juvenile, Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Reckless handling of Hazardous Materials, Operating a Clandestine Laboratory and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force were patrolling Wise St. in the Patterson area, when they conducted a traffic stop on suspect vehicle for failure to use turn signal. Upon Agents coming into contact with suspects a warrants check was conducted when it was learned of a warrant for Landry. Suspect was detained and Agents received consent to search vehicle. Dinger and an 18 month old child were removed from the vehicle. While Agents were searching vehicle a duffle bag containing several items used in the manufacturing of Methamphetamine were located. Agents evacuated the area and contact was made with Louisiana State Police and DEA Agents, and a Hazardous Materials Response Team was called to the scene to clean up the site. During investigation it was learned that suspects had just left a residence at 713 Leonard St., Apt. C in Patterson. Agents were sent to the residence to conduct an investigation. After investigation with Landry and Dinger it was learned that suspects also had a lab at their residence and Teams were sent to that location to clean up the site. After investigation both suspects were placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with no bonds at this time.

Jeffery P. Meadows 27 yoa of 713 Leonard St., Apt. C, Patterson was arrested on 6-8-2009 at 10:03 pm for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Obstruction of Justice. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force had conducted a traffic stop on Wise St. in Patterson when it was learned that suspects had just left the above location and sold Methamphetamine to above suspect. Agents were sent to the above location and conducted an investigation. Upon Agents arrival two subjects were standing outside the residence. Agents advised suspects of the investigation and were taken into the residence by suspects. During investigation it was learned that suspect had purchased methamphetamine from suspects from the traffics stop. Agents retrieved a cigarette pack containing a ziplock bag containing methamphetamine behind the residence. Agents also located drug paraphernalia in the residence. After investigation above suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.



According to Sheriff David Naquin during the last 24 hours the Sheriff’s Office responded to 35 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Brandon M. Hanks 18 yoa of 4512 Flexi Road, Youngsville, La. was arrested on 6-8-2009 at 4:28 pm for Simple Battery. Deputy was called to 20504 Hwy 182 in reference to a disturbance. Upon Deputy’s arrival it was learned from complainant that they were returning with her grandfather to the residence, when they observed subjects riding his scooter, when they advised them about riding the chair an argument ensued with above suspect committing a battery on victim. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $500.00 bond and was later released.

Deshawn D. Williams 32 yoa of 909 Antigo Alley, Franklin was arrested on 6-8-2009 at 8:19 pm on a warrant for Failure to Appear on the charges of Speeding and Expired Inspection Sticker. Deputy was patrolling the Amelia area, when he conducted a traffic stop on Lake Palourde Road. During Investigation it was learned of a warrant for suspect’s arrest. Suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $333.50 cash bond and was later released.

Russell A. Smith 46 yoa of 122 Mariana St., Gibson, La. was arrested on 6-8-2009 at 11:43 pm for Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated and Threatening a Public Official. Deputy was called to Judy’s Lounge in Amelia in reference to a Disturbance. Upon Deputy’s arrival it was learned from barmaid that above suspect was cursing her and refused to leave. Upon deputy making contact with suspect an odor of alcoholic beverage was observed upon his person. During investigation suspect refused to cooperate and was placed under arrest. While suspect was being transported to Jail he began to make threats to Deputy and was additionally charged. Suspect was booked into the parish jail with a $1250.00 bond at this time.
