St. Mary Sheriffs' Office 8/11/09

The St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force reports the following arrest:

Blaine Gros 38 yoa of 514 Main Project Road, Schriever, La. was arrested on 8-10-2009 at 5:34 pm for Possession of Cocaine and a warrant for Failure to Appear on the charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force were patrolling the Siracusa area, when they conducted an investigative stop on suspect walking down James St… During investigation a search of suspect’s person was conducted with Agents locating a rock of crack cocaine in a cigarette pack on suspect’s person. Suspect was placed under arrest on above charges and booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.



According to Sheriff David Naquin during the last 24 hours the Sheriff’s Office responded to 44 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Brandy Gray 24 yoa of 303 BDC Lane, Franklin and Candy Hebert 26 yoa of 220 Universe St., Bayou Vista were arrested on 8-10-2009 at 9:59 am for Disturbing the Peace by Fighting. Deputy was called to Plantation Inn in Bayou Vista in reference to a battery. Upon Deputy’s arrival it was learned from suspect Candy Hebert that she and suspect were arguing when suspect pushed her down. Upon Deputy locating Brandy Gray it was learned from her that she and Hebert were arguing when suspect scratched her so she pushed her away. After investigation both suspect’s were placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $250.00 bond and were later released.

Denise Mason 33 yoa of 1156 River Road, Berwick was arrested on 8-10-2009 at 12:09 pm for Theft by Shoplifting. Deputy was called to Wal-mart in Bayou Vista in reference to a shoplifter. Upon Deputy’s arrival Wal-mart security advised that above suspect was observed concealing items in her purse. Value of Item’s taken were $32.72. Suspect was placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 11-2-2009.

Lowanda D. Ruffin 24 yoa of 2707 Shaw St. Apt. # 16, Morgan City was arrested on 8-10-2009 at 4:00 pm for Theft. Arrest stems from an investigation into above suspect an employee of Wal-mart that was observed on surveillance cameras allowing store employees and customers to get items by under ringing the merchandise. After investigation above suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $1500.00 bond and was later released.

Michael P. Lovell 41 yoa of 109 Stacy St., Morgan City was arrested on 8-10-2009 at 11:07 pm on a warrant for Issuing Worthless Checks. Deputy was patrolling the Amelia area, when he came into contact with above suspect. During investigation it was learned of a warrant for his arrest. Suspect was placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 11-2-2009.

Rene Villarreal 39 yoa of 1014 Hwy 182 East, Bayou Vista was arrested on 8-10-2009 at 11:29 pm for Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated and Resisting an Officer. Deputy was called to above location in reference to a disturbance. Upon Deputy’s arrival above suspect was observed yelling and causing a disturbance with another subject on the front porch. Upon Deputy attempting to speak with subjects above suspect continued to yell and cause a disturbance. Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the parish jail. While Deputy attempted to get booking information from suspect he refused to cooperate and was additionally charged. Suspect was booked into the parish jail with a $1250.00 bond at this time.

Clay Guillory 32 yoa of 5336 Hwy 182, Patterson was arrested on 8-11-2009 at 2:47 am for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Deputy was patrolling the Amelia area, when he conducted an investigative stop on Friendship Alley and Lake Palourde Road on two subjects standing on the corner. Upon Deputy making contact one of the suspects fled on foot. Above suspect was detained and upon Deputy conducted a pat down of suspects person drug paraphernalia was located. Suspect was placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 11-2-2009.
