St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office

The St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force, consisting of St. Mary Sheriff Dept., Morgan City Police Dept., Patterson Police Department Franklin Police Dept., Baldwin Police Dept., Berwick Police Dept., and Chitimacha Police Dept., report the following arrests:

Branden M. Leger 21 yoa of 113 Judy Lane Lot # 12, Patterson was arrested on 8-4-2008 at 7:34 pm for Possession of Marijuana. Agents were patrolling the Morgan City area, when they conducted a traffic stop on Levee Road. During investigation suspect a passenger in the vehicle was removed and during a search of his person two bags of marijuana were located. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 11-13-2008.

Richard Barrick III 22 yoa of 202 California St., Berwick was arrested on 8-4-2008 at 9:46 pm for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force were patrolling Railroad Ave. in Morgan City when they conducted an investigative stop on above suspect walking down the street. During investigation a search of suspect’s person was conducted with drug paraphernalia being located on his person. Suspect was placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 11-13-2008.

According to Sheriff David Naquin during the last 24 hours the Sheriff’s Office responded to 44 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Eddie B. Norman Jr. 29 yoa of 1615 South Road Apt. D, Bayou Vista was arrested on 8-4-2008 at 8:09 am on warrants for Simple Assault and Simple Criminal Damage to Property. Suspect was located at his residence, placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $750.00 bond and was later released.

Lakeisha P. McDaniel 31 yoa of 1703 Fern St., Patterson was arrested on 8-4-2008 at 12:56 pm on a warrant for Failure to Appear for Revocation Hearing. Deputy was called to Wendy’s in Bayou Vista in reference to a disturbance. Upon Deputy’s arrival it was learned that above suspect was causing a disturbance in the business. A warrant’s check was conducted with suspect being placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $500.00 bond and was later released.

Harold L. Williams 23 yoa of 406 South Mabel St., Bunkie, La. was arrested on 8-4-2008 at 1:10 pm on a warrant for Simple Battery. Suspect turned himself into the Sheriff’s Office after learning of a warrant for his arrest. Suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $500.00 bond and was later released.

Orrando M. Guidry 36 yoa of 318 Fifth St., Morgan City was arrested on 8-4-2008 at 9:48 pm on a warrant for Failure to Appear on the charge of Issuing Worthless Checks. Deputy was called to Mount St. and Railroad Ave. in Morgan City in reference to Agents conducting an investigative stop and locating above suspect. During investigation it was learned of a warrant for suspect’s arrest. Suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $500.00 bond at this time.
