According to Sheriff David Naquin during the last 24 hours the Sheriff’s Office responded to 39 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Jorge Pedro Sebastian 23 yoa of 720 Cypress St., Amelia was arrested on 10-30-2008 at 8:27 am for Hit and Run Driving, Operating a Vehicle without Lawful Presence in the United States, Careless Operation and No Drivers License. Deputy was called to Hwy 182 and Lakeview Dr. in Amelia in reference to an accident and suspect vehicle leaving the scene. Upon Deputy’s arrival it was learned from victim that he was traveling west bound on Hwy 182, when suspect vehicle ran intersection hitting and collided with the side of vehicle. Suspect vehicle then left the scene. Deputy patrolled the Amelia area and located suspect vehicle at the Conrad Aluminum yard. Driver of Suspect vehicle was located and after investigation was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.

Noel A. Vaszil 48 yoa of 153 Parro Lane, Berwick was arrested on 10-30-2008 at 11:13 am on warrants for two counts of Issuing Worthless Checks and a warrant from the Attorney Generals Office for Theft over $500.00 and Misrepresentation Concerning Workers Compensation Benefits. Suspect was located at her residence, placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $5500.00 bond and was later released.

Jamie L. Butler 27 yoa of 223 Arlington St., Bayou Vista was arrested on 10-30-2008 at 4:15 pm on warrants for Unauthorized Use of an Access Card and Failure to Appear on the charge of Theft. Suspect was located at Wendy’s Restaurant in Bayou Vista, placed under arrest on warrants and booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.

Cynthia Billizon 49 yoa of 1 Stone Throw Dr., Houma La. was arrested on 10-30-2008 at 11:22 pm on a warrant for Issuing Worthless Checks. Deputy was patrolling the Amelia area, when he conducted a traffic stop on Lake Palourde Road. During investigation it was learned of a warrant for suspect’s arrest. Suspect was placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 1-12-2009.

Jamal A. Charles 23 yoa of 134 Charles Lane, Jeanerette was arrested on 10-31-2008 at 3:39 am on a warrant for Failure to Appear on the charge of three counts of Theft. Deputy was patrolling the Amelia area, when he conducted a traffic stop. During investigation it was learned of a warrant for suspect’s arrest. Suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $10,000.00 bond at this time.
