ASSUMPTION UPDATE

The Assumption Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness has coordinated with the Army Corps of Engineers to administer the Corps of Engineers “BLUE ROOF PROGRAM”. They will be located in the Police Jury Administrative Office located at 4813 Highway 1 in Napoleonville.

Program requirements are as follows:

Damage sustained to the roof of your primary residence
Residential homes only, NO BUSINESSES
No asbestos roofs are applicable
No slate roofs are applicable
No ceramic roofs are applicable
Case by case assessment by the Corps of Engineers
If approved, actual roof fitting done by Corps of Engineers

Applications must be completed at the Assumption Parish Police Jury Administrative Office located at 4813 Highway 1 in Napoleonville. Hours of operation are from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

A FEMA REPRESENTATIVE will be present on a day to day basis at the Napoleonville Middle School in Napoleonville. The representative will be available to register residents for individual assistance from 9:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

A “NO BURN POLICY” has been enacted for Assumption Parish. Please adhere for the safety of all.

CURFEW will remain in effect daily from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

The Assumption Parish CLERK OF COURT’s office will be open on Monday, September 8, 2008 for regular normal business hours, but will be operating out of the Assumption Parish Police Jury office located at 4813 Highway 1 in Napoleonville. Court will be held in the small Courtroom located in the rear of the Assumption Parish Courthouse Complex until further notice.
