Press Release #7 – Hurricane Gustav

The St. James Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness along with the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office is announcing that all of St. James Parish has no electricity. We do not have an estimation of restoration times. Only utility personnel and damage assessment teams are being allowed in the Parish. Some major highways and streets are impassable due to down power lines and trees. There have been no reports of flooding in the Parish. A curfew will be in effect from 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. until further notice. Also, all schools in St. James Parish closed until September 8th.
