The St. James Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness along with the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office is announcing effective 6:00 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2008 the alcohol ban and curfew will be lifted.
Also, a Right of Entry Collection Center has been set-up by the Corps of Engineers for the Blue Roof Program at the North Vacherie Volunteer Fire Department on Hwy. 18. It will be open from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Finally, two point of distribution sites (PODS) are set up to distribute MREs, ice and water. Romeville Elementary in Convent will be the location on the east bank. Welcome Park in St. James will be the location on the west bank. Additionally, residents wishing to apply for the Blue Roof Program, a Right of Entry Collection Center has been set-up by the Corps of Engineers at the North Vacherie Volunteer Fire Department on Hwy. 18 beginning immediately until 8:00 p.m.
