St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Press Release

According to Sheriff David Naquin during the past 48HR period the Sheriff’s Office responded to 68 complaints over the past period and reports the following arrests:

Charlette Harris age 36 of 1208 Joseph street Morgan City, La was arrested on 10-10-08 at 413pm and charged with Aggravated Battery. This stems from an investigation by deputies of a dispute between two females while they were in Verdunville. The suspect, Charlette allegedly cut the other female on the hand and threw a bottle at the other female causing a swelling to the forehead. Victim was treated at Franklin Hospital and released. Charlette was transported to the parish jail for processing and incarceration.

George Thomas, age 46 of 116 Eleventh street Morgan City, La was arrested on 11-10-08 at 1032am and charged with Failure to appear Warrant for no Insurance, No License plate expired inspection sticker. He was transported to parish jail for processing and incarceration.

Lance Taylor, age 27 of 1713 Harry D street Patterson, La was arrested on 11-10-08 at 1230pm on charge of Armed Robbery. This was following an investigation of an armed robbery of Mikes Lounge in Amelia by using a gun in August 2008. Lance was transported to the parish jail for processing and incarceration. There were no injuries during the robbery.

Shayla Walker, age 19 of 521 Egle street Morgan City, La was arrested on 11-10-08 at 430pm and charged with theft. This follows an investigation of a theft complaint at Wal Mart in Bayou Vista in which Shayla was observed putting merchandise in her handbag. She was released on summons to appear in court on that charge.

Rose Charles Rubbins age 57 of 19845 Hwy 182 Jeanerette, La was arrested on 11-10-08 at 810pm on a warrant for Issuing Worthless Checks. She was released on summons to appear in court.

Tremain Elliot Vincent age 24 of Bayside Village Apartments, Berwick, La was arrested on 11-11-08 at 915am and charged with Turn signal required, Resisting and officer, Unauthorized use of a Moveable, Driving Under Suspension and two warrants for Failure to appear in court for charges of Possession of Cocaine and paraphernalia and Direct Contempt for speeding. The arrested stems from a report of stolen vehicle from the Patterson area and deputies observed said vehicle in the Amelia area and stopped the vehicle in which the suspect took off running and the chase ended when the suspect got stuck in a drainage ditch and was then brought into custody. He was transported to the parish jail for processing and incarceration.

Lucius Calvin Jr. age 40 of 304 Cleveland street Patterson, La was arrested on 11-11-08 at 1107am and charged with theft. This follows an investigation of a theft complaint at Wal Mart in Bayou Vista in which Lucius was observed taking merchandise from the store without paying for them. He was released on summons to appear in court on that charge.

Gabrieo Boulanger age 19 of Patterson, La. was arrested on 11-11-08 at 301pm and charged with Resisting and officer by flight, Suspended drivers license and a warrant for failure to appear on charges of Possession of Marijuana. The arrest stems from an investigation disturbance with possible gun involved on Village Lane in Amelia, La. When approaching the complaint deputies observed the suspect vehicle leaving the area and attempted to stop the vehicle but it did not stop until it got to Morgan City, La. When stopped the suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the parish jail for processing and incarceration.

Jamie Francois, age 17 of 621 Egle Street Morgan City, La was arrested on 11-11-08 at 437pm and charged with Theft. This follows an investigation of a theft complaint at Wal Mart in Bayou Vista in which Jamie was observed taking merchandise from the store without paying for them. She was released on summons to appear in court on that charge.

Jack Louis Bergeron age 28 of 101 Pluto street Bayou Vista, La. Was arrested on 11-11-08 at 858pm on warrant for Failure to appear on Probation Violation. He was transported to the parish jail for processing and incarceration.

Calvin Conley age 42 of 520 Corrine street New Iberia, La was arrested on 11-11-08 at 1001pm and charged with disturbing the Peace Intoxicated and for two counts failure to appear warrants for Disturbing the Peace. Calvin was in the Ashton area in the roadway and knocking on people’s doors. He was transported to parish jail for processing and incarceration.
