St. Mary Sheriff's Office & Task Force 4/9/10

According to Sheriff David Naquin during the last 24 hours the Sheriff’s Office responded to 37 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Brandon Willis 27 yoa of 1025 ½ Cayce St., Franklin was arrested on 4-8-2010 at 11:30 am for Proper Equipment and Driving Under Suspension. Deputy was patrolling Hwy 90 in the Bayou Vista area, when he conducted a traffic stop on vehicle for no tail light. During investigation it was also learned suspect was driving under suspension. Suspect was placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 7-29-2010.

Lucretia L. Sanders 26 yoa of 461 Verdun Lane, Verdunville was arrested on 4-8-2010 at 11:23 am on a warrant for Failure to Appear on the charge of Speeding. During a traffic stop it was learned of a warrant for suspect’s arrest. Suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $308.50 cash bond and was later released.

Carley Lee Griffin 25 yoa of 207 Arizona St., Morgan City, Theiring T. Pinn 25 yoa of 601 Oak St., Houma, La. and Rodney K. Hayes 25 yoa of 208 Federal Ave., Morgan City were arrested on 4-8-2010 at 9:13 pm for Open Alcoholic Container. Agents were patrolling the Morgan City area, when they conducted a traffic stop on Federal Ave. on vehicle for no license plate light. Upon Agents making contact with suspects open alcoholic containers were observed in the vehicle. After investigation suspects were placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 7-29-2010.

Teri A. Williams 23 yoa of 418 Hwy 318, Jeanerette was arrested on 4-8-2010 at 9:29 pm on a warrant for Failure to Appear on the charges of Speeding and Driving without a License. Suspect was located at her residence, placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $500.00 bond and was later released.

The St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force, consisting of St. Mary Sheriff Dept., Morgan City Police Dept., Franklin Police Dept., Baldwin Police Dept.., Berwick Police Dept., and Chitimacha Police Dept.. report the following arrests:

Joseph L. Gary 24 yoa of 1418 Todd St., Lafayette, La. was arrested on 4-8-2010 at 4:27 pm for Possession of Xanax, Possession of Soma and Possession of Valium. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force were patrolling Hwy 90 in the Four Corners area, when suspect vehicle failed to signal lane change and a traffic stop was conducted. During investigation consent to search vehicle was received with agents locating two pill bottles containing xanax, soma and valium. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.

Kevin Verret 30 yoa of 723 Arlington Road, Bayou Vista was arrested on 4-8-2010 at 6:06 pm on a warrant for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana 2nd. Suspect was incarcerated in the parish jail on unrelated charges. Suspect was placed under arrest on warrant and is being held in the parish jail with no bond at this time.

Jondre J. Wesley 27 yoa of 710 Ash St., Franklin was arrested on 4-8-2010 at 7:51 pm for Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Xanax. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force were patrolling Hwy 90 in the Baldwin area, when he conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no License plate light. During investigation suspect a passenger in the vehicle admitted to having marijuana on his person. Agents removed four small bags of marijuana from suspect’s person. Upon further investigation driver gave consent to search vehicle and a pill bottle was located in the passenger door with cocaine and xanax. After investigation above suspect was placed under arrest on above charges and booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.
