A Terrebonne Parish sheriff's detectivelieutenant has been demoted to sergeant and assigned to community college security.
The Courier reports that 42-year-old Shane Fletcher was demotedand reassigned after pleading "no contest" to a misdemeanor inconnection with a tracking device put on a coach's car.
Sheriff Vernon Bourgeois says an internal investigation foundthat Fletcher's activities were unbecoming an officer.
Fletcher was suspended for three days after pleading no contest Feb. 12 to criminal mischief.
He was reassigned Feb. 28.
Truck stop owner John Ledet Jr. of Raceland and State TrooperTravis "Bucky" Colombel have pleaded not guilty - Ledet to criminal mischief, Columbel to malfeasance.
