HOUMA POLICE ARREST MAN FOR MAKING THREATS AT THE DAIQURI SHOP


Last Nigh, Houma Police officers responded to a disturbance at Daiquri’s and Company on Grand Calliou Rd.


They learned a man entered the business and started threatening people, telling them he was going to "shoot-up" the business.


The man also informed patrons that 6 other people were with him and that they would be entering shortly to help him. However, fter making the statement the man left the building.


While investigating the incident, the subject in question was being described by patrons as a

black male wearing a blue muscle shirt, carrying a red shirt on his shoulder.


Officers patrolled the area and located a man matching the description at the intersection of Grand Calliou Rd. and Van Avenue. He was identified as Michael J. LaGarde, homeless, approximately 42 years old.


Upon questioning Mr. LaGarde, officers learned that he did not have a weapon in his possession, but they found drug paraphernalia.


At this point, Michael LaGarde was taken into custody and arrested for 1-ct. Terrorizing and 1-ct. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and transported to the Ashland jail.
