St. Mary 6/4/09

The St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force, consisting of St. Mary Sheriff Dept., Morgan City Police Dept., Patterson Police Department Franklin Police Dept., Baldwin Police Dept., Berwick Police Dept., and Chitimacha Police Dept., report the following arrests:

Carmen Verdun 26 yoa of 106 Bergeron Lane, Bayou Vista and Elizabeth B. Jones 46 yoa of 220 Southeast Blvd., Bayou vista were arrested on 6-3-2009 at 5:19 pm with Verdun being charged with Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of CDS in the Presence of a Juvenile, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Jones being charged with Possession of Xanax and Possession of CDS in the Presence of a Juvenile. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at 106 Bergeron Lane. During a search of the residence Agents located a bag containing crack cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, and several drug paraphernalia items along with $280.00 in U.S. Currency. Agents also located a Xanax pill on Jones person. After investigation suspects were placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with Verdun having a $20,000.00 bond and was later released and Jones has no bond at this time.


According to Sheriff David Naquin during the last 24 hours the Sheriff’s Office responded to 40 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Clayton Tardy 47 yoa of 112 Jolivette St., Baldwin was arrested on 6-3-2009 at 8:00 am on a warrant for Failure to Comply with Terms and Conditions of Drug Court and Failure to Appear for Criminal Neglect of Family. Suspect was located at his residence, placed under arrest on warrants and booked into the parish jail with a $100,796.52 at this time.

Kerdern Martin 22 yoa of 149 Pickett St., Charenton was arrested on 6-3-2009 at 8:29 am for Failure to Comply with Terms and Conditions of Drug Court. Suspect was located at his residence, placed under arrest on warrant and booked into the parish jail with a $100,000.00 bond at this time.

Eric D. Dennis 24 yoa of 512 Tiger Lane, Verdunville was arrested on 6-3-2009 at 11:09 am on two warrants for Failure to Appear for Drug Court Status Conference. Suspect turned himself into the Sheriff’s Office after learning of warrants for his arrest. Suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $200,000.00 bond at this time.

Michael Federer 18 yoa of 411 Theriot Alley, Berwick was arrested on 6-3-2009 at 1:05 pm on a warrant for Violation of a Protective Order. Suspect was located at his employment in Morgan City, placed under arrest on warrant and booked into the parish jail with No Bond at this time.

Alvaro Madrigal 31 yoa of 237 Vivian St., Morgan City was arrested on 6-3-2009 at 2:55 pm on a warrant for Failure to Comply with Terms and Conditions of Drug Court. Suspect was located at his employment in Amelia, placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $100,000.00 bond at this time.

Christopher J. Pourciau 35 yoa of 311 Neptune St., Bayou Vista was arrested on 6-3-2009 at 3:50 pm on a warrant for Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile. Suspect turned himself into the Morgan city Sheriff’s Office when he learned of a warrant for his arrest. Suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $5000.00 bond and was later released.

Penny N. Johnson 34 yoa of 2618 Fifth St., Berwick was arrested on 6-3-2009 at 8:26 pm for Headlights Required, Driving Under Suspension and Failure to Secure Registration. Deputy was patrolling Hwy 90 in the Berwick area, when he conducted a traffic stop. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 9-9-2009.
