The St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force, consisting of St. Mary Sheriff Dept., Morgan City Police Dept., Patterson Police Department Franklin Police Dept., Baldwin Police Dept., Berwick Police Dept., and Chitimacha Police Dept., report the following arrests:
Nicholas D. Wiggins 19 yoa of 213 Tupelo St., Morgan City was arrested on 6-17-2009 at 7:20 pm for Possession of Marijuana. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force were patrolling the Bayou Vista area, when they conducted a traffic stop on Clark Road. During investigation a search of suspect vehicle was conducted with a marijuana cigar being located in the ashtray. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 9-9-2009.
Ronald Armond 36 yoa of 248 Murial St., Bayou L’Ourse was arrested on 6-17-2009 at 11:03 pm for Possession of Lorcet with Intent to Distribute. Agents were patrolling the Morgan City area when they conducted an investigative stop on above suspect walking on Levee St. and Garber St… During investigation suspect was observed holding several Lorcet pills in his hand. Agents retrieved the narcotics and after investigation, placed suspect under arrest and booked him into the parish jail with no bond at this time.
According to Sheriff David Naquin during the last 24 hours the Sheriff’s Office responded to 52 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Jeffery Mayon 45 yoa of 3229 Mayon Lane, Amelia was arrested on 6-17-2009 at 4:35 pm for Hit and Run Driving and Reckless Operation. Deputy was called to Ganaway’s store in Amelia in reference to a Hit and Run accident. Upon Deputy’s arrival it was learned from witness that above suspect was backing out of the parking lot when he hit a vehicle parked next to him and then drove off in a reckless manner. Information of suspect vehicle was gathered and suspect and vehicle was located at his residence. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 9-9-2009.
