ST MARY SHERIFF'S OFFICE 6/2

According to Sheriff David Naquin during the last 24 hours the Sheriff’s Office responded to 32 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Dustin M. Liles 17 yoa No Address given was arrested on 6-1-2009 at 12:11 pm for Remaining Where Forbidden. Deputy was called to 313 Sunset Ave. Bayou Vista in reference to suspect trespassing after being told to stay off property. Upon Deputy’s arrival it was learned from complainant that suspect returned to her residence after being told by Deputy on previous incident not to return. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $500.00 bond at this time.

Robert J. Wright 29 yoa of 37 Jefferson Ave., Ponte Vedra, Fla. Was arrested on 6-1-2009 at 7:27 pm for Remaining Where Forbidden and warrants for Failure to Appear on the charge of Issuing Worthless Checks and two warrants for Issuing Worthless Checks. Deputy was called to the Amelia Bell in reference to a suspect that has been banned from property. Suspect was located on the property, placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail on above charges with a $4250.00 bond at this time.

Francisco J. Balderas 24 yoa of 317 N Louisa Road, Cypremort Point was arrested on 6-2-2009 at 1:49 am for Hit and Run Driving and No Drivers License. Deputy was called to Sugar Mill Lane in Louisa in reference to a single vehicle crash. Upon Deputy’s arrival to the area, vehicle was located in the bayou partially submerged with no one around the vehicle. Deputy learned of owner of vehicle and located him at his residence. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 9-9-2009.

Ahmad Rashad 22 yoa of 1603 Glenmont Dr., Morgan City and John A. Gibson 19 yoa of 115 Headland St., Morgan City were arrested on 6-2-2009 at 12:51 am with Rashad being charged with Turn Signal Required and Public Intimidation and Gibson being charged with Battery of a Police Officer, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Resisting an Officer and two counts of Criminal Damage to Property. Deputy was patrolling the Amelia area, when he conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 182. While Deputy was conducting investigation Gibson the passenger in the vehicle was removed from vehicle at which time he dropped a plastic bag to the ground containing marijuana. Deputy attempted to place suspect under arrest at which time he pushed Deputy and took off running. Deputy apprehended suspect and had to physically subdue him. Upon further searching suspect a pill bottle was located on Gibson containing several rocks of crack cocaine. After investigation both suspects were placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail on above charges with no bonds at this time.

Lois Harmon 39 yoa and John Verdin 56 yoa both of 204 Kathleen St., Patterson were arrested on 6-2-2009 at 2:36 am for Battery on a Police Officer, Resisting an Officer and Disturbing the Peace. Deputies were called to above location in reference to a disturbance. Upon Deputies arrival suspects were arguing and causing a disturbance. After speaking with suspects they were advised to calm down and go inside the residence. As Deputies were leaving suspect exited the residence yelling and cursing, both suspects were placed under arrest. During the arrest Harmon began to resist deputy hitting him in the face, suspect was subdued. Deputy had placed Verdin in the unit at which time he began kicking the window of the unit. Deputy opened door to restrain Verdin when suspect kicked Deputy. Both suspects were booked into the parish jail with no bonds at this time.
