ST MARY DRUG TASK FORCE 6/2

The St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force, consisting of St. Mary Sheriff Dept., Morgan City Police Dept., Patterson Police Department Franklin Police Dept., Baldwin Police Dept., Berwick Police Dept., and Chitimacha Police Dept., report the following arrests:

Robert Skipper 28 yoa of 2419 Apple St., Morgan City was arrested on 6-1-2009 at 8:59 pm for Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of CDS, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Violation of uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substance Law Drug Free Zone (Housing Authority). Agents of the Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at 2419 Apple St. Upon Agents entering the residence suspect was located in a bedroom with two handguns and a large amount of marijuana. Upon further searching the residence a large amount of packaging material was also located. Agents also located $455.00 in U.S. currency on suspect’s person. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.


Corwin A. Smith 27 yoa of 305 Fourth St., Morgan City was arrested on 6-1-2009 at 9:07 pm for Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Loritab, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of CDS, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of CSDS in the Presence of a Juvenile and Keeping a Disorderly Place.

Nikita D. Smith 24 yoa of 305 Fourth St., Morgan City was arrested on 6-1-2009 at 9:07 pm for Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of CDS and Possession of CDS in the Presence of a Juvenile.

Sheldrick R. Andrews 29 yoa of 111 Mont St., Morgan City was arrested on 6-1-2009 at 9:07 pm for Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of CDS in the Presence of a Juvenile, Resisting an Officer, Battery on a Police Officer, Keeping a Disorderly Place and Obstruction of Justice.

Agents of the Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at 305 Fourth St. in Morgan City. Upon Agents entering the residence several subject along with juveniles were detained as an investigation was conducted. Upon Agents entering a bedroom Andrews was observed throwing a bag containing crack cocaine onto the bed. Andrews was placed under arrest at which time he began to resist and committed a battery on agent. Upon Agents continuing search of the residence a large amount of cocaine, marijuana, packaging material, scales and two guns and a loritab pill was recovered. After investigation above suspects were placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail on above charges with no bonds at this time.
