TRAFFIC TO MOVE EASIER ON HWY 1 IN THIBODAUX

Mayor Charles Caillouet said that the Lafourche Parish Turn Lane Project is scheduled to begin this week in Thibodaux, and last over 20 days.

Left turn lanes will be placed on LA Hwy 1 at the Tiger Drive, Jackson Street, Canal Boulevard, and Audubon Avenue bridges.

The project was awarded to Barriere Construction Co. in the amount of $477,872 and is being funded through DOTD and the ARRA Economic Stimulus funds.

Mayor Caillouet said, “Upon completion of the Lafourche Parish Turn Lane Project, Thibodaux residents and commuters should experience significantly reduced traffic congestion on LA Hwy 1. I thank motorists, in advance, for their patience during construction.”
